Good things happen when Home Depot comes to town. That’s what the company likes to say. But don’t tell that to the cops in West Mifflin, PA. They had to deal with some rowdy characters on January 20th in the parking lot of the Home Depot off Route 51. The cops were called in and came under attack store personnel interrupted a credit card scheme. The cops told the Pittsburg Post-Gazette they they had to dodge a car, and then a bullet, before calming the disturbance in the Home Depot parking lot. When it was all over, three men were charged with using a stolen credit card, attempted fraud, attempted theft, and using a fictitious credit card. West Mifflin police also arrested one man on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and fleeing and eluding police. One of the police ordered a suspect to get out of his car, and the suspect tried to run down the cop. The police believe they were shot at, and returned the fire, blowing out the rear tire of the car as the man attempted to drive away. The cops arrested the man 15 minutes later. The headlines the next day read: Three held in store attack. Just another quiet evening at the nation’s “most admired retailer”.
