“Jingling Coins” Song Brings Wal-Mart Holiday Cheer

Just returned from that big box store with the everyday low prices? Santa has just returned from China with a sleigh-full of special gifts made in sweatshops for you and your loved ones! To help Santa along his way, here’s a seasonal song from Dee Brantley of Lake, Charles,Louisiana, who had a Wal-Mart supercenter built in her backyard, and she says she’s not had a Silent Night or Peace on Earth since then. To celebrate the holidays, here’s the song Dee wrote to the tune of Jingle Bells:

Jingling coins, jingling coins
jingling all the way,
Oh, what fun it is to shop
the Wal-Mart import way — Hey!

Jingling coins, jingling coins
jingling all the way,
dollars fly to Bentonville
on a one-way Chinese sleigh.

Dashing through the aisles,
it’s an endless import maze,
little prices make big smiles
while slave wages Wal-Mart pays.

Midnight hours bring
illegals cleaning nights,
can you tell me is it true
that only might makes right?

Santa Claus, Santa Claus
Whatcha gonna say?
Did you move to Bentonville
Arkansas, U.S.A? Hey!

Uncle Sam, Uncle Sam,
Whatcha gonna do?
I’d like to buy American,
But it seems I can’t find you!

— Dee Brantley
POW (Prisoner of Wal-Mart)

Want to feel good for Christmas? Tell your friends “don’t buy me presents at Wal-Mart.” Happy holidays!
