The Associated Press headline today reads: “Ex-Home Depot Employee Kills Two”. A former Home Depot employee at a store in Morrow, Georgia, a suburban community 15 miles south of Atlanta, shot and killed one person and wounded two others and then turned the gun on himself. One of those wounded was in critical condition with a head wound. The 20-year-old woman who was killed was the girlfriend of the former Home Depot associate. She worked at the store also. The 22-year-old shooter chased his girlfriend to the store, planning to shoot her, said Clayton County sheriff’s officials. After shots were fired, the gunman ran out of the store and two police officers chased after him and fired at him, but missed. The gunman then went back into the Home Depot and shot himself after he was cornered in one of the building supply store aisles. Authorities said all three victims were shot inside the Home Depot around 8 a.m., just as it was opening for the day’s business. “We don’t know what led up to this,” the local sheriff’s office said.
