They are starting a campaign to get shoppers to stay out of the giant retailer this Christmas. Here’s a report of the Wal-Mart criss-cross in LaCrosse: “Wal-Mart recently built two new boxes, one on each end of the city. We are planning to organize with local business organizations (especially downtown ones) to do picketing of the stores — the purpose being to let people know what their spending supports by handing literature pamphlets to anyone who makes eye contact. The main message will be, “Boycott WalMart for your Christmas shopping- Go downtown instead!”
