According to an article in the Ceres (CA) Courier, City officials believe that the Citizens for Ceres, who have blocked a second Wal-Mart in this city for 9 years, is really just ???a front??? for the lawfirm that has battled the giant retailer in at least 13 communities across California.
The Editor of this small town ???newspaper??? says the law firm of Herum Crabtree & Brown ???has operated behind boilerplate groups similar to the one in Ceres??? for the purpose of fighting Wal-Mart projects.???
This must have taken some real sleuthing on the part of the Ceres Courier, since the ???boilerplate groups,??? which are made up of local homeowners, have been in the paper for nine years stating their case, and the lawfirm working with them has been in the public eye all that time.
Instead of focusing on the many ways that rich developers control the land use system in America, the Ceres Courier tries to cast suspicion on its local residents, who are trying to protect the property values, and prevent the economic dislocation that comes with big box stores.
It was the Ceres Plannng Board and City Council that ???fronted??? for Wal-Mart, letting the developer write its own environmental impact report, instead of having an independent study done.
City officials around the nation are shilling for big box developers, and the result economically has been a legacy of dislocated business and lost jobs.
The Ceres Courier is Wal-Mart boilerplate front group.

Drop them a letter to editor, telling them you know a big box retailer that sells boilerplate real cheap.
