Sprawl-Busters has received the following frontlines report from residents in Tennessee: “We are fighting our THIRD Supercenter in Murfreesboro, a city of 80,000 people in Rutherford County (100,000). Our county has total of 3 Supercenters currently. The proposed Supercenter will be 4 miles from an existing Supercenters in the city of Murfreesboro. The site of the proposed Supercenter, as promoted by developer Sam Haynes, is in a neighboorhood shopping area on the last piece of open space, a farm. The developer and Wal-Mart have been required to hold a community meeting prior to the Planning Commission Meeting. The meeting date announced will be December 5.
