Wal-Mart has reported that on the day after Thanksgiving, it had its busiest sales day ever, making $1.43 billion in sales. One of those shoppers who found little to be thankful for, was a woman from Tennessee, who wrote me the following Wal-Mart story: “I made the mistake of going to Wal-Mart tonight. Against my better judgment, I went in there to find a video game that has been advertised on TV. They didn’t have the game of course. So….I chose a game that I didn’t particularly want, then purchased an over-priced pair of flannel pants. When I went to check out, I discovered that there were not enough check-outs open and the self-serve check outs were closed. Supposedly “over-heated”. Whatever. Had to argue to get someone to check me out. The fact of the matter is that Wal-Mart has ruined communities and taken away jobs. What is worse is that they don’t give back to the communities that they have destroyed. My Christmas wish is that someone like you can put an end to Wal-Mart and all the greedy so and so’s that are taking advantage of the everyday consumer!!!”
If this holiday seaon you find your car in a superstore parking lot, simply throw the car into reverse, pull out of the lot, go home and have a nice cup of camomile tea. You’ll find that the “shopping trip from Hell” will just drain right out of you. “Wal-Mart: Always a Hassle. Always.”
