Time is money at Wal-Mart. Apparently Texas Attorney General John Cornyn didn’t think Wal-Mart was giving its customers enough time on what was advertised as a two hour telephone calling card. The AG has filed a lawsuit against Sam’s Club charging that its 120 minute calling card is deceptive about the value of the card, because the Wal-Mart folks forgot to tell consumers that the card only gives you one third of the time advertised — or only 40 minutes of actual talk time, when the card is used from pay phones, because of various fees associated with the card. Talk about being cheap, the Wal-Mart calling card will cut you off without even a decent goodbye. Maybe its time to hang up on Wal-Mart?
Time out, Wal-Mart! The AG’s office is charging that the Wal-Mart talk card takes two-thirds of its value away deceptively. How’s that for a symbol of the entire Wal-Mart operation? The value is not always what’s its “talked up” to be. If you believe that a 120 minute phone card ought to be worth 120 minutes — don’t call Wal-Mart — just email them at [email protected]. Tell them to pull their card off the market, because talk should be cheap at Wal-Mart.
