According to one Wall St. analyst, retail stocks took a slide on Sept. 30th. because of fears of a consumer slow down. Wal-Mart stock dropped 6% from 58.125 to 54.625, down from its 52 week high of 69 points. Home Depot also fell by nearly 2 points to 39.5. Even though Wal-Mart is reported same store sales of 7.5% in its last quarterly report, same store sales in 1984 and 1985 were nearly twice as high.
